  • 1974 nominated "Hong Kong Catholic Nurses Guild" and was affiliated with Hong Kong Central Council of Catholic Laity.
  • 1982 accepted as a formal member of CICIAMS.

Objectives:

  1. To promote the spiritual and professional training and the social welfare of the members.
  2. To foster and encourage among the members the spirit of charity in the care of the sick.
  3. To develop among the members their social consciousness and responsibility.

Structure:

Member of CICIAMS, and that of the Hong Kong Central Council of Catholic Laity.

There are 4 sub-branches:
- Hong Kong Sanatorium and Hospital / Ruttonjee Hospital SH / RH
- Queen Mary Hospital QMH
- Queen Elizabeth Hospital QEH
- Kwong Wah Hospital KWH

Non-branch members:

We are happy that St Teresa Hospital has set up her own society for Catholic Nurse in February 1998. Though they have not yet joined up with our CNG, we would like to have close communication with them, and many others more. ANY catholic nurse can join in our group. We also welcome non-members to participate in our activities.

Basic Activities:

Besides the monthly council meeting of the officers together with the representatives from the branches, there are also irregular visits to the branched and non-branched hospitals to expand the contacts and to promote co-operation. There are regular retreats, spiritual gatherings, religious and academic discussions, parish health checks and group recreational activities.

Quarterly Magazine

called "Spring" meaning messages from the Spring -the living water of God. It is quarterly published to promote the spiritual sharing amongst members and non-members. Meanwhile more than 600 copies are sent each publication.
